THE CONCEPT Several years ago the Missouri Baptist Convention invited us to participate with them in developing a series of “First Unit” prototypes. The driver of this effort was to provide architectural service to churches ready to build their first building, but at a substantially reduced fee. Since the inception of this offering we have assisted several Baptist churches. This program is also made available to Non-Southern Baptist churches. The three prototype church building designs we present here have been refined in the course of our partnership with many other churches with similar goals. The simple layout and construction details of these buildings make them well suited for a smaller congregation and the use of volunteer labor. We are pleased to be able to offer our services in association with the Missouri Baptist Convention and would welcome the opportunity to serve your church.
